Cool New Pixar Stamps Coming Soon! (UPDATE)

Pixar is always up to something neat. That's one of the things that I love most about the company. This coming August, the USPS (United States Postal Service) will release these cool stamps featuring Pixar characters, from the films Cars, Ratatouille, Toy Story/Toy Story 2/Toy Story 3, Up, and WALL-E. The minute I saw these stamps I absolutely loved them. I enjoy writing letters to Pixar, and I always hope they will write back, so maybe one day I'll get something in the mail with one of these neat little stamps!

UPDATE (Via Upcoming Pixar): Check out the official press release for these stamps here.

More Toy Story 3 'FYC' Posters!

Recently on Disney's Awards Website, a whole lot of new TS3 'For Your Consideration' posters were revealed! Before this new bunch, we had seen other cool posters (click here and here) for Toy Story 3's campaign. Since there are so many, I have not posted the new 'FYC' ads here on the blog, because there are a lot, but you can view them all here, and once you're there, click on where you see 'Campaign'. I hope you check these out, they're really fun posters!

New TS3 'For Your Consideration' Poster

Adding to the series of Toy Story 3 'For Your Consideration' posters is this marvelous still of the toys holding hands, facing their fate together at the incinerator. Of course, only to be rescued by none other than 'The Claaaaw!"

Nominations for the Oscars will be announced on January 25, 2011. Then at last, we will know if TS3 got nominated for the Oscar of the Oscars. But only until February 27, will we know if it will win. Keep your fingers crossed!

New Toy Story Short...In Hawaii?

According to Floyd Norman, a Hawaii themed Toy Story short film is headed our way. This is likely to be the first of the Toy Story Toons, and could also be the one that will be attached to Cars 2 this summer. Here's what Norman said on Twitter:

"Saw the Pixar "Hawaii" short. Cute."

Later on he said,

"Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don’t know what it’s gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however."

So it seems that the short will probably focus on Ken and Barbie, but we're likely to see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Bonnie's toys in this new short as well, as soon as it comes out.

Toy News!

There's been a lot of news about Pixar's latest hit lately. I did a quick summary here on the blog.

In the last few days, Toy Story 3, has been receiving quite a few nominations! They are:
- Golden Globes: Best Animated Feature Film
- Oscars: Best Original Song (We Belong Together)
- One of the 10 films selected for the AFI Awards

Also, check out this cool chart summarizing the commercial success of TS3!

Cars 2: Super Early Review!

Even though the film is almost six months away from being released in theaters, Disney apparently held a "super secret" screening of Pixar's upcoming movie, Cars 2! According to Nanna Torhild, one of the lucky people invited to the special event, about 70% of the film is still not finished. She does include some negativity in her review, but I doubt Pixar's next is bad. No Pixar movie has ever been bad.

Mrs. Torhild claims Cars 2 is is hilarious, and funnier than the original. She also says that some of the secondary characters are "a delight", and that the film has beautiful sets, "even for flat drawings", because a lot of the film was shown in storyboards.
So if you look at all the positive remarks on the film, it looks like another great movie is coming our way!

You can read Nanna's full review here, but beware a few tiny spoilers!

My Thoughts On TS3 Winning Best Picture

A lot of people say that just because a movie is animated, it means it's for 'babies', or 'little kids'. I have always disagreed with that. Animated movies are made to be enjoyed by all audiences, from toddlers to young kids, preteens to teens, adults, and elders. Especially at Pixar, people work hard to make movies that are appealing to the whole family.

Now some people who avoid animated movies because they think they are too 'childish' are getting in the way of Toy Story 3 winning the almighty Best Picture Award at the Oscars. These people really got on my nerves, because TS3 has undoubtedly been one of the best (if not the best) film of 2010. It has grossed over 1 billion dollars worldwide at the box office, it has gotten great reviews from critics, and even got a rating of 99% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. So, in my opinion, Pixar's latest hit is bound to at least get nominated for the great award.

Toy Story 3 has been the highest grossing film of 2010, the best reviewed film of 2010, and, if I'm not mistaking, has gotten the highest rating on Rotten Tomatoes this year. So how many more reasons are there for this astounding animated movie to win Best Picture.

These are some of the reasons I think TS3 should win:
- It has everything a great movie needs: action, heart, and humor
- It is appealing to anyone who gives it a chance; it's appealing to people of all ages and of both genders
- As I have stated, it has been the highest grossing movie of 2010, the best reviewed, and has gotten the highest ranking on Rotten Tomatoes

I will admit, there has been a lot of other spectacular movies this year, Inception, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and of course other awesome animated movies, like Tangled, but I think it's time that animated movies get a chance to get the best award there is. Only two animated movies have ever been nominated for the Best Picture Award (Beauty and the Beast, Up), but when will one win? We will at last find out on February 27, 2011.

Pixar Corner Gets Into The Holiday Spirit!

As you have probably noticed, I have put some "Christmas decorations" on the blog to celebrate the joy of the Christmas season! I thought it would be fun to decorate the blog according to the time of year. For example, now in the Christmas season, I have Mike Wasowski with his little snowmonster buddy, along with some colorful Christmas lights on the title header. In Febuary, I'll probably put something Valentine's Day related, but Pixar related at the same time. So I hope you like this idea to spread some holiday cheer on Pixar Corner!

Toy Story 3: Nominations and More!

It looks like Toy Story 3 is on its way to winning lots of awards! NBR (National Board of Review of Motion Pictures) has just given it the title of Best Animated Feature of 2010, and the spectacular blockbuster film just earned a Grammy Nomination! TS3 recieved the Best Score Soundtrack Album Grammy Nomination, which is not a surprise, because in my opinion, Toy Story 3's music by the brilliant Randy Newman was just astounding. But still everyone is wondering: Will TS3 be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars? Find out February 27, 2011.

The Art of Cars 2 Now Available for Pre-Order

Today sees the announcement of The Art of Cars 2 book now available for pre-order on sites like Amazon and Chronicle Books. A few months ago I remember getting my copy of The Art of Toy Story 3 in the mail, so now I'll probably be patiently awaiting a copy of this new book, featuring beautiful art from the upcoming film.

The Art of Cars 2 will be written by Karen Paik and Ben Queen, and a foreword or preface by director John Lasseter is expected. Chronicle says after May 18, 2010 for a release date, but Amazon says around June 1. As all of Pixar's 'Art of' books, The Art of Cars 2 will tell about the making of the animated film, and a lot of the marvelous artwork by the brilliant minds at Pixar will be contained in the books as well.

I love reading these books about how Pixar's masterpieces are created. They are very well written, and are very interesting to read. So if you like Pixar and love to read like me, I recommend you consider getting this book, as I think you will enjoy it as much as me.

So will you be getting this book? Does it interest you?

Interview With Pixar's Bob Whitehill

An interesting video interview with Pixarian Bob Whitehill can now be found on Collider. Some cool subjects pop up in the conversation, such as Cars 2 and Brave. Mr. Whitehill mentions an animation test for Brave they have been working on that features the main character of the film, Merida, riding her horse through the woods, and also states that Cars 2 has been a challenge for him. But it's nothing to worry about, since all Pixar movies have their bumps on the road, but they always turn out to be a huge success. Sounds exciting. I can't wait for Cars 2. I can't wait for Brave. But we still haven't heard any plot details about Monsters, Inc. 2. That's what I'm anxious to hear about.

The New Face of Pixar Corner

As you can see, the blog has changed a bit, but in my opinion, it's improved! You can see the sidebar is now on the right side instead of the left side, the colors have changed a bit, and a the title header looks different. Also, videos on the blog can now be seen without having part of the screen cut off, which really bothered me before. This means I'll be posting videos more often now! So I hope you like the new look on the blog and see it as an improvement, and "Hooray!" for an all new face of Pixar Corner, and many more years of great posting!

Toy Story 3 "For Your Consideration" Posters

It's already been 22 days since TS3 came out on home video, and three "For Your Consideration" posters have already been released. The first one features Buzz in a heroic pose, another features Mr. Pricklepants performing on a stage, and the last one features Woody, Buzz, and Jessie running away from a stampede of monkeys. So let's hope the third installment of the Toy Story saga does well at the Academy Awards (and of course all the other award ceremonies)! Looks like Disney and Pixar are going for the "Best Animated Feature" and "Best Picture" awards. I wish them luck!

New Image of Siddeley

I was looking on Yahoo! Movies at the Cars 2 images, and I happened to come across a brand new picture of Siddeley (voiced by Jason Isaacs), one of the new characters in the upcoming sequel. Now that we get to look at him up close, he looks like an extremely cool jet plane!

Cars 2: New Characters' Names & Voice Actors Revealed!

On Tuesday, the new Cars 2 trailer was released, and we saw some new characters in it, like Finn McMissile. When I was watching the trailer, I kept asking myself, "What could the other new characters' names be?" Well, my question was answered by Empire Online, who got word on the new characters' names AND who's voicing them. Now with one look at the names, you might have no idea which one is which, but I'm pretty sure I got them all figured out, since they all show up in the trailer. OK, here's the list:

Michael Caine as Finn McMissile (silver colored professional spy with "British intelligence")

Emily Mortimer as Holley Shiftwell (sleek, purple colored female car, "spy in training")

Thomas Kretschmann as Professor Zundapp (the evil looking car from the trailer)

Jason Isaacs as Siddeley (cool spy jet plane, most likely a villain)

Joe Mantegna as Grem (orange evil minion)

Peter Jacobson as Acer (lime-colored evil minion)

Well, that's all for today, but stay tuned for more Cars 2 news! In theaters June 24, 2011.

New Full-Length Cars 2 Trailer Now Online!

When I checked the Cars 2 website this morning, it had the same old teaser trailer and concept art it has had for the past few weeks. Well, when I checked it this afternoon when I got home from school and finished all my homework, it had an all new full-length trailer, AND a bunch of new stills from the movie, including the one from last post.

Well, I have to say, now I am REALLY excited for Cars 2. Well, I pretty much always am excited for all Pixar movies, but this new trailer is really cool! I love how Lightning McQueen got slightly modified since the last movie, with a new paint job and that cool new spoiler (which looks SO cool on him), and it looks as if he's finally installed headlights! Also, it looks as if this new film is going to be packed with quite a lot of action!

The new trailer also revealed some new characters, like the possible villain of the film, his possible evil minions, a sleek, purple colored female car, and Finn McMissile. According to a trustworhty Pixarian, Finn McMissile is being voiced by British actor Michael Caine, and it is thought that Emily Mortimer is voicing the sleek, purple female vehicle.

Well, this trailer, and of course all the amazing new stills is all we have to marvel at of Cars 2 so far, but don't worry, the wait will be over in exactly 7 months and 8 days.

So, what did you think? Are you excited for Cars 2?

Cars 2 Getting Geared Up For The Road!

Wow! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been VERY busy. But a lot of exciting new things have happened. A new Cars 2 poster has been released, and you can check it out here. Also, a new official synopsis has been released for the film:

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Lastly, the picture seen above is an all new still of the movie! It includes characters Lightning McQueen and Mater, in a spectacular looking car chase, and if you look at the grey car next to Mater, I think that might be Finn McMissile! Wow! I really love that still.

Also, be sure to check out the online premiere of the all new full-length Cars 2 trailer later on today!

Toy Story 3 Now Available on DVD & Blu-Ray!

Woo Hoo!!! The day has finally come! Two days ago, the incredible Toy Story 3 finally was released on Blu-Ray and DVD! There's really not much too say here, since all that was covered in previous posts anticipating the release of TS3 on home video. I, of course, got the TS3 Blu-Ray Combo Pack on Tuesday, and it was truly awesome. The bonus features are fantastic as well, and I haven't even finished watching them all! I am so happy now that I have the whole Toy Story trilogy on Blu-Ray (I bought TS1 and TS2 in March). Now that TS3 is finally home, everyone can enjoy Pixar's latest masterpiece on Blu-Ray and DVD! If you haven't got it yet, don't forget to look for it at any local store! Next post I'll have pictures of my TS3 Blu-Ray to share on the blog!

Also: The poster seen here is the very first "For Your Consideration" poster for TS3! Now that it's been released on home video, it's time for the awards season!

Lee Unkrich Says "The End."

They made the movie. They released it in theaters. It was a huge success. They release it on Blu-Ray and DVD. They put it in a drawer along with the other Pixar movies.

At least that's what director Lee Unkrich did. He has posted this video on You Tube for all Pixar fans to enjoy.

This officially marks "The End" for Toy Story 3. Well, not the end, but the end of the process of making the film, the end of its run in theaters, until it was released in home video.

Don't forget to look for Toy Story 3 on Blu-Ray and DVD this Tuesday. Finally.

Since it is "The End", it won't be long until the nominations (and awards, duh) start coming in for TS3. In my opinion, TS3 will definitely win Best Animated Movie at the Oscars and has a pretty strong chance of being nominated and possibly winning Best Picture.

The Marvelous Music of Pixar

Music is a marvelous thing. It makes us feel certain emotions, depending on what kind of music it is. My most favorite music of all, is the music used in Pixar films. I think it's so good, it should be made into its own genre. Rock, pop, classical, and Pixar. Pixar not only makes great films, but they make great films with great music. As I mentioned at the start, it music makes us feel different emotions. For example, the opening jazz theme for Monsters, Inc. makes me feel happy and excited because of its cheery beat. The theme for Finding Nemo really touches my heart, and makes me feel calm, and it makes me think that it's a beautiful world. There is a lot more Pixar music, so that's why below I've posted quite a few (there is at least one song for each Pixar movie) of my personal favorites from all the Pixar films. Please do enjoy.

Awesome Pixar News Bundle!

A lot of awesome new things have been going on in the Pixar world lately (as always). Read below to find out what the awesome new things are.

-I sometimes like to save the best for last, but this was too exciting to hold off until the end. OK, here it goes. The first teaser trailer for Cars 2 has been released on the Internet! Woo Hoo! It was assumed that it would be coming for the first time on the DVD/Blu-Ray for TS3, but it came two weeks early! While I'm on the subject of Cars 2, the official website now includes the teaser trailer and some cool concept art of the film, including the art seen above and below. Also, director Brad Lewis has now been made co-director, while former co-director John Lasseter takes his spot as director. This is pretty exciting for me because I am a huge fan of John and he hasn't directed a film since the first Cars. Wow, there sure has been a lot of news about Cars 2 lately. The new trailer, Michael Giacchino is composing, John Lasseter directing...what's next? They may be having a few difficulties with the film as has been rumored, but I totally doubt Pixar will make a bad movie! I have complete faith in Pixar, and they would definitely not screw up after 11 hits! A bad Pixar movie...there is NO SUCH THING!!!

-The director has also been changed for another upcoming Pixar movie. Brenda Chapman is no longer directing Brave. However, she is not leaving Pixar, as previously assumed. Mark Andrews will be replacing her as director. This is a bit of a shocker. Brenda Chapman was going to be Pixar's first female director, and she came up with the story for Brave herself. But I'm sure whatever it is they're doing at Pixar, it's for the best.

-Just a quick announcement, The Incredibles is coming to Blu-Ray high definition next spring!

The Legendary Pixar Cereal Bar

This post is all about the cereal bar seen above (In case you don't know, that's the cereal bar at Pixar), and, as I mentioned two posts ago, contains all the information I know about it. Too bad I don't know very much. Well, I know a bit...

Well, apparently Pixarians love cereal, so it's great that they have a whole cereal bar. According to an interview with Darla K. Anderson (the producer of Monsters, Inc., A Bug's Life, Cars, and Toy Story 3) in this video, "the producer's secret weapon to get things done on time and on budget is to keep infusing the animators with cereal". In the same video, Bob Whitehill says "cereal is always kind of like a tradition at Pixar where people just come in and have a bowl of cereal before they go off into animation".

Not only does Pixar have a cereal bar, but it has a HUGE cereal bar. At least it's described as "HUGE" everywhere I've heard or read about it. It ranges from Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Captain Crunch, Cheerios, Corn Pops, Frosted Flakes, and many more! I've just listed a few of my personal favorites.

The "Cereal Room", the room in which the cereal bar is found, not only includes the bar, it also includes coffee, peanut butter, jam, milk (of course), fruits, and other appetizing snacks and beverages.

Well, and that concludes my awesome post about the awesome cereal bar of awesomeness. I may be writing a post soon about some other cool stuff at Pixar, and if you have any requests, you can put them in the comments section and I'll be happy to write a post about it. :)

Pixar News Lineup

There's been a lot of Pixar news going around lately, but I haven't been able to get on to the computer much with all the homework I've had. I don't like homework. At all.

-First up, it has been announced that composer Randy Newman will not return to score Cars 2. However, Up composer Michael Giacchino will be scoring the film. This should be great. Randy Newman would've done a great job, but Micheal Giacchino is just as talented.

-You may remember the "Chatter Telephone Tipline" video I posted not so long ago. It was about Pixar's secret code, A113. Well, a few more "Chatter Telephone Tiplines" have debuted on the Internet. One is about Lee Unkrich's one and only line in TS3. Lee voiced the Jack-in-the-Box that proclaims, "New toys!" when Andy's toys arrive at Sunnyside. There is also another "Chatter Telephone Tipline" about Sid's cameo in TS3. You may remember Sid as Andy's evil neighbor who tortures toys in the first Toy Story. Well, in TS3 he is a little older, and appears to have gotten a job in the garbage truck business.

-A few more sneak peeks of the bonus features which will be on the TS3 DVD/Blu-Ray have been released. One is a touching video featuring director Lee Unkrich and John Morris, voice of Andy in Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and Toy Story 3. Another one features interviews with Lee Unkrich, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Estelle Harris, and Jodi Benson. Only two days and two weeks until we bring all the action, heart, and humor of TS3 home!

Well, that's it for today, but keep coming back here for everything Pixar, the company that makes the best films in the world!

Note: My post about the Pixar cereal bar will be my next post. ;)

Sneak Peek of New "Cereal Bar" Studio Story

You may have heard of Pixar's legendary cereal bar before. In the newest installment of Pixar's Studio Stories, which will be included on the TS3 DVD and Blu-Ray, this amazing cereal bar is explained. The video below is just a sneak peek of the upcoming Studio Story, so there is much more to come on the TS3 DVD and Blu-Ray. I personally think that this cereal bar is really, really, cool. I would LOVE to have a cereal bar like this at home, but I don't think that's ever going to happen! :( Look forward to the complete version of this Studio Story, and some other cool ones, when TS3 hits stores November 2! (Only less than a month to go! I can't wait to watch TS3 again!)

Note: My next post will be all about Pixar's cereal bar, and will include everything I know about it.

Are you a fan of Pixar's Studio Stories? Had you ever heard of Pixar's cereal bar before? Are you excited for TS3 to come out on home video?

"Heavy Metal Mater" Set to Premiere Tomorrow!

Heavy Metal Mater, the latest installment in the Cars Toon saga is set to premiere tomorrow on Disney Channel. This is the newest Cars Toon yet after Monster Truck Mater, and will surely be just as funny! Here is a full synopsis:

Mater is a rock star in a heavy metal band. He starts out in a garage band and rises to the top with his hit song, "Dad Gum." Lightning McQueen joins him on stage in the middle of a huge concert and they rock into history!

Looks like another awesome Cars Toon to me! Look forward to even more great Cars Toons very soon, including Moon Mater and Mater Private Eye on the upcoming Cars Toons DVD and Blu-Ray! You can also expect to find Heavy Metal Mater on the new Cars Toons Blu-Ray/DVD.

Are you excited for Heavy Metal Mater? Are you looking forward to some new Cars Toons?

How is Apple Related to Pixar?

I was looking at some information about the all new iPad the other day and then I remembered the relation that there is between Pixar, the company that makes the best animated movies in the world, and Apple, the company that brings us the best computers and electronics in the world. You may or may not know that Pixar's former C.E.O. is Steve Jobs, who is currently C.E.O. and co-founder of Apple. Similar to A113, Apple is sometimes hidden in Pixar movies as well. Need proof? Next time you watch Toy Story 3, look carefully at the screen of Andy's laptop. He is using iTunes. Also, in the scene where Woody and Bonnie's toys are surfing the web, they are using a Mac and have a Safari window open. There could be more hidden Apple references in other Pixar movies, and at least now you know the relation between Pixar and Apple!

Double Post: What is A113? + New Pixar Parade Coming Soon!

There are two things included in this post today (hence the title "Double Post").

First off, I wanted to explain what "A113" is to anyone who doesn't know. A113 was the number of John Lasseter's classroom when he attended CalArts (California Institute of the Arts), a college founded by Walt Disney that specializes in teaching film making, animation, and more. As you may have heard before, John Lasseter is the Chief Creative Officer at Pixar and Disney. A113 has appeared in every single Pixar movie to date. For example, in the Toy Story films it appears as the licence plate on Andy's mom's van. If you're not so sure, look again. Most of the time, however, the code is quite tricky to find. You can also check out this video, where Chatter Telephone tells you all about this mysterious code.

Second, The Disney Parks Blog tells us that a new Pixar-themed parade is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World on January 16, 2011. This new parade will include the characters from Up and Ratatouille along with other Pixar favorites and it will replace Block Party Bash.

That's all for today, but Pixar is always up to something new and exciting, so keep coming back here for more cool news on everything Pixar.

Pixar News This Week

I have been very busy lately so I have not been able to get on the computer to update my blog. This post has all the news that I missed out on.

I'll start off by announcing that a logo for Pixar's upcoming film Brave was seen at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. Pixarian Chris Chua said on Twitter that two of the characters from the movie (Merida, the main character, and her mother) can be seen on the logo. Look closely and you'll be able to find them!

The next two notices are about TS3 coming to home video on November 2 (Only two months to go!). First off, the artwork for the Toy Story Trilogy Box Set has been revealed. This box set will be titled the Ultimate Toy Box Collection and will include Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3. It will include 10 discs, being a TS1 Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy, a TS2 Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy, and for TS3 it will have 2 Blu-Ray Discs, a DVD, and a Digital Copy.

Lastly, the final details for the TS3 DVD and Blu-Ray have been released. So it's now officially official. Bonus features and tons of information can be seen at the TS3 website! It has been updated and now shows evidently that TS3 is coming soon to home video.

Well, that's all for today, and keep coming back here for more awesome news about Pixar!

Lee Unkrich Talks About Pixar's Future!

Lee Unkrich talked to Hollywood.com and MovieWeb recently and some of Pixar's future projects were mentioned, as well as the making and success of Toy Story 3. There is a lot of interesting stuff in here, and it gets me even more excited to watch Brenda Chapman's Brave. I'm also really excited for next year's Cars 2 (Don't miss the trailer premiere on the TS3 Blu-Ray and DVD), as well as the new Toy Story Toons. What I'm really looking forward to is finding out the story for Monsters Inc 2, as I mentioned before. Be sure to check out all of Pixar's future releases, and keep coming here for up to date news on Pixar.

"Newt" Concept Art Revealed on Facebook!

Recently on Disney/Pixar's Facebook page, some concept art of Pixar's cancelled film, Newt, done by the brilliant artists at Pixar was released. It's a pity the film was shelved because judging by these beautiful images, it could have been really good. But maybe some day Pixar will decide to continue Newt and release it for all audiences to enjoy.

Some of my favorite pieces of the Newt concept art are this one, this one, and this one. Which ones are your favorites?

Toy Story 3 Reaches $1 BILLION Worldwide!!! (Finally)

YAHOOOOO!!!! Way to go Toy Story 3!!! Only two weeks after becoming the highest grossing animated film ever, TS3 finally reached the $1 billion dollar mark.

I've been waiting for this movie to reach $1,000,000,000 since it first came out. After its spectacular success on its first weekend, I was sure this would be another box office hit. And sure enough, it was!

TS3 is already the 7th highest grossing film of all time, and I think it will at least pass Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland's $1,024,298,794, and land in 5th place on the list. Speaking of Disney blockbusters, this is the second movie this year released by Walt Disney Studios to reach the one billion mark. Surely, TS3 can break some more records? Pixar just has this awesome habit of creating the best movies! Keep it up Pixar!

More On "Cars Land"

A few days ago I posted some cool new info on the all-new Cars-themed attraction coming to Disney's California Adventure in 2012, Cars Land. Well, yesterday I was searching the web for something new on Cars Land and I found some cool pictures of the upcoming attraction here. I have also posted them below with my own little captions. Enjoy!

A summary (in pictures) of what you can expect to find at Cars Land when it opens in 2012.

A crowded Radiator Springs filled with guests looking for more Cars action!

The "E"-ticket ride at Cars Land, Radiator Springs Racers.

Disney & Pixar Withdraw From Annie Awards/ASIFA

Just a quick update, Disney and Pixar have withdrawn from the Annie Awards and their parent organization, the ASIFA.

Ed Catmull, President of Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, tells Variety :

"After more than a year of discussions with the ASIFA board, we have regretfully decided to withdraw from the organization and no longer participate in the annual Annie Awards,"

"We believe there is an issue with the way the Annies are judged, and have been seeking a mutually agreeable solution with the board. Although some initial steps have been taken, the board informed us that no further changes would be made to address our concerns."

I'm not too disappointed with Disney and Pixar withdrawing from the Annies, considering all the other awards Pixar can be nominated for besides the Annies.

The New "Day & Night" Picture Book

Recently, a picture book based on Teddy Newton's spectacular short film, Day & Night, was released by Chronicle Books. This hardcover book contains the story of the short film in 40 pages filled with fun little illustrations in every page, along with a sentence or two for each page. This book tells the story of Day & Night in a very special and unique way. This book is aimed at children but that doesn't have to stop you from enjoying Day & Night in this fun way! I suggest you do buy it whenever you see it at your local book store! Also, check out this video here about the all-new picture book. Teddy Newton has done an incredible job both creating this book, and the fantastic short film of the same name.

A Sneak Peek at "Cars Land"

As you may have heard before, there is an upcoming attraction at Disney's California Adventure Park in the Disneyland Resort named "Cars Land", which is set to open in 2012. Based on the 2006 movie Cars, it will be full of Cars themed attractions including rides, shops, and restaurants. Cars Land will be pretty much a replica of the film's Radiator Springs, where guests can immerse themselves in the world of Cars by enjoying themselves at the Cozy Cone Motel, or at Flo's V8 Cafe.

Chances are, you might catch a glimpse of Mater and Lightning McQueen while strolling down Radiator Springs and may even get a picture with them! The E ticket ride, "Radiator Springs Racers" will be similar to Test Track at Epcot in the Walt Disney World Resort, but this fun-filled ride will have a Cars theme, like all the other attractions at Cars Land. This thrill ride will probably be the most popular attraction there!

Cars Land is coming alive 2012! This is one attraction you definitely will not want to miss

Toy Story 3 Highest Grossing Animated Film Ever!

Last week, the critically acclaimed Toy Story 3 set an all new record for highest grossing animated film ever. Looks like Dreamworks' Shrek 2, which held the record for six years, has finally been out grossed. TS3 grossed about $940 million globally at the box office last week when it broke the record, has grossed $941,580,518 so far, and may very well be on its way to one billion! It is the 9th highest grossing film of ALL TIME and has already passed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Last week it was in 14th place. Can it make it to at least fifth place? Also, it has made it to 10th place on the domestic grosses list, beating Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Toy Story 3 has broken many other records, which it has been doing ever since it hit theaters in June. This movie is going to do very good at the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Emmys, and the Oscars. It has already won a Teen Choice Award for Best Animated Movie. We'll see what other awards TS3 wins along the way. Only time will tell if it will be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Good luck Toy Story 3!
