Watch New Brave TV Spot!

On Sunday night during the Oscars, this fabulous TV spot for Pixar's upcoming Brave was released. You may or may not have seen it, either way, here's your chance to see it once again or for the first time!

After the Oscars, it was posted online, but not in very good quality. However, FirstShowing.Net soon posted it in a quality swell enough to enjoy (aka HD). While the large majority of the new promo is footage we've previously seen in the trailers, there are about 2 to 3 seconds of fresh new footage in there!

Watch it here:

With a beautiful song sung in Scottish Gaelic and exciting shots from the film, this TV spot gets me more pumped up than ever to see Brave in theaters this summer. How about you?

Brave hits theaters on June 22!

La Luna Still a Winner!

La Luna, unfortunately, did not take home the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film tonight. This may sound a bit disappointing, but, as I've said before, receiving a nomination from the Academy is a prize all on its own.

Congratulations to director Enrico Casarosa, the La Luna crew, and all of Pixar for being nominated, and, judging from what I've heard, creating such a beautiful short film that will be forever cherished! I cannot wait to see La Luna this summer!

Meet the Characters of Brave!

This week was an exciting one. We got a new Brave website, a new Brave poster, and best of all, a new Brave trailer! With all the thrilling news regarding Pixar's latest film, we got to learn a little more about each of the characters.

Below are some short character bios for each of the characters from Brave. We learn a little something special about each of them!

Merida

Passionate and fiery, Merida is a headstrong teenager of royal upbringing who is struggling to take control of her own destiny. She feels most at home in the outdoors honing her impressive athletic skills as an archer and swordfighter, and racing across the magnificent Highland countryside with her faithful horse, Angus. With a spirit as vibrant as her untamed hair, Merida also has a softness of heart, especially when it comes to her wee triplet brothers.

King Fergus

Protector of his kingdom and family, King Fergus is a heroic warrior with a majestic bear cape, broad sword and a knobby peg leg – the result of his much-regaled skirmish with the demon bear Mor’du.

Queen Elinor

A vision of grave, wisdom and strength of character, Queen Elinor is fiercely dedicated to the well being of her family and kingdom. As the measure, diplomatic counterpoint to her more impulsive husband, King Fergus, Elinor carries the weight of the kingdom on her shoulders.

The Triplets

Identical triplets Harris, Hubert and Hamish are adorable, redheaded, and always ready to stir up a bit of mischief, especially if sweets are at stake.

Lord Dingwall

Grumpy and quick-tempered, the scrappy Lord Dingwall doesn’t let being height-challenged get in the way of solving his problems with fisticuffs.

Wee Dingwall

Gangly, guileless and often lost in his own head, Wee Dingwall is the awkward son of Lord Dingwall.

Lord Macintosh

The wiry, indignant and off-kilter leader of his clan, Lord Macintosh is always a heartbeat away from hysterics.

Young Macintosh

Young Macintosh knows he has it all – athletic physique, undeniable charm and long flowing locks that leave the lasses swooning in his wake.

Lord MacGuffin

Strapping Lord MacGuffin is a man of few words, though his deep voice resounds across the land demanding respect.

Young MacGuffin

Speaking an uncommon Scottish dialect that is incomprehensible to most, Young MacGuffin is a shy lad of large proportions.

Angus

Black as night with ivory muzzle and fetlocks, Angus is Merida’s powerful Clydesdale and her most trusted confidant.

Only four months to go until these characters hit the big screen in Brave on June 22!!!

Mind-Blowing New 'Brave' Trailer!

Today's the day. The new Brave trailer has finally premiered!!!

Well, it's actually a trailer in the form of a clip, a two minute and a half clip from the film. Still, this doesn't make it less cool. Pixar has always been known to be creative in every aspect, so I guess they wanted the new trailer to be a whole scene.

Watch here:

The animation in this is gorgeous, and I am certain that Brave will follow in the tradition that each movie they make looks, from a technical standpoint, even better than the last. I've heard a lot of positive comments about Merida's hair! It is quite stunning.

As for the story, we get a closer look at a lot of these characters' personalities in this new trailer/clip. King Fergus loves to joke around with his daughter and isn't a very strict parent, unlike Queen Elinor, who gets quite angry when Merida decides to "shoot for her own hand". Merida is clearly fierce and not afraid to stand up for herself. And she is also the best archer I've ever seen.

Looks like the masterminds at Pixar are cooking up another classic animated film for us to enjoy. Don't miss Brave when it hits theaters on June 22!

Awesome, Beautiful, Fantastic New 'Brave' Poster!

A major website update. A new trailer tomorrow. Even with these two unbelievably exciting gifts from Pixar this week, they decided to give us one more Brave present...

The gorgeous and spectacular poster seen above that probably made your jaw drop the instant you first saw it.

This is even better than the previous Brave poster we saw, which, for the record, was extremely awesome as well. This one's just so vibrant, and while there's not a large variety of colors on it, it's still very colorful. I think part of the reason Pixar decided to give Merida fiery red hair is to give the movie some more color and spirit, rather than having it look dull and boring.

The new poster features Princess Merida stylishly aiming an arrow at who-knows-what, and bravely staring into the camera. John Lasseter was not kidding when he said Merida was going to be a "kickass" princess! She looks like she could be deadly to anyone or anything if she so desired, so I pity the boy who dumps her.

Also, you can once again catch a glipse of that mysterious bear in the background, as well as those mystical-looking, glowing, blue thingies in the foreground.

The bottom of the Brave poster includes the tagline, and invites you to Change Your Fate on June 22.

I invite you to do the same when Brave hits theaters this summer! Man, now I am starting to get really impatient for June 22 to get here!

Brave Website Gets HUGE Update!

Those visiting the official Brave website yesterday afternoon were surprised with many awesome new additions to the site, including a slightly updated synopsis of the film (with fantastic illustrations to support it), Pixar's official Twitter feed at the bottom of the page, and all new character bios! The images shown for each of the characters are the exact same ones as the ones from the game cards we saw on Monday.

This massive update is surely because of the new trailer being released tomorrow, but while you wait to see those, you can enjoy the amazing new additions to the site! Expect to see the new trailer on there tomorrow as well.

Brave "takes aim" at theaters on June 22, and be back here tomorrow for the all-new trailer!

Next 'Brave' Trailer Arriving Thursday

Those who have recently entered the Apple Trailers website have probably seen the little box with the Brave logo on it, with the text: Change Your Fate In 3 Days.

As you may know by now, "Change Your Fate" is the official tagline for the film, but what does this countdown mean? The movie certainly isn't coming out in three days, so there can only be one explanation...

We will see the latest Brave trailer on Thursday.

I was beginning to wonder when we'd see another trailer for Pixar's first fairy tale, and then all of a sudden, here comes this Brave countdown on the Apple Trailers website.

What will we see in this new Brave trailer? It could be anything, but expect some new plot details to be revealed, as well as possibly some new characters. What you can be certain of is this:

Your mind will be blown away.

New 'Brave' Character Images

I recently stumbled upon these neat little images of the main characters from Pixar's next film Brave. We get a closer look at the sons of the three Lords; Dingwall, Macintosh and MacGuffin. While we saw the young sons of the Lords briefly in the trailer, this is the first time we get to more thoroughly see them.

The images appear to be from some sort of Brave card game according to Bleeding Cool. Apart from the sons of the three Lords, there are pics of Merida (above), Merida's horse (named Angus), the Triplets, Queen Elinor, King (or Lord) Fergus, and, of course, Lords Dingwall, Macintosh, and MacGuffin. Check them out below.

See all these characters in action when Brave hits theaters on June 22 this summer! Don't miss it!

'Brave' Art at Disney World!

A couple of weeks ago, an exhibit with loads of never-before-seen artwork from Brave was revealed at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World. The habit of putting artwork of Pixar's next feature film on display in that same area at Hollywood Studios has now become a tradition, as in the past there have been Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 displays.

Below I have posted some of my personal favorites from the exhibit, but you can see more over at MouseSteps.

Also, MouseSteps posted this video covering pretty much everything from the exhibit. So even if you aren't currently at Disney World, you can enjoy the gorgeous art from Brave.

Be sure to pre-order The Art of Brave, which gives you the ultimate look into the making of Pixar's latest film.

New La Luna Image Takes to the Skies

After the new 30-second clip that was revealed earlier this week, we now have a beautiful new still from La Luna. The main character, Bambino, is climbing a ladder out of the shot, with his father and grandfather watching closely. Where is he off to? The Moon, of course!

La Luna is playing in some festivals around the world, but if you don't get the chance to see it in any of these, you can see it in theaters with Brave this summer!

New Clip from La Luna; Interview with Director!

While some have already gotten the lucky chance to see Pixar's newest short film, La Luna, at some festivals, it has not yet been released to the rest of the public, but it has already earned an Oscar nomination.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive interview with the director of the short, Enrico Casarosa, along with an all-new never-before-seen clip from the film (watch it below). Enrico talks about his past, the production and inspiration for the short, and reveals a few cool things, like the fact that he is now working as head of story on the "Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs", and how you pitch a short film at Pixar. Be sure to read the whole interview, there's some really interesting words from the director of La Luna himself on there!

Also, the new 30-second clip is just more proof of how beautiful the short is.

La Luna will be screened in several locations around the world in the coming days, along with all the other Oscar nominated short films. It will also be attached to Brave in theaters this summer, and will likely make its home video debut with Brave as well. But whenever you get the chance, just make sure you watch La Luna!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just wishing all my readers a very happy Valentine's Day! Remember to show appreciation to all your buddies, because, after all, you'd be awfully sad without them! Remember how sad WALL-E was when he thought he had lost EVE?

Also, best Valentine's wishes from Paul Robin!

The "Adventures with Wall-e" blog continues to deliver fantastic pics featuring everyone's favorite little bot!

Happy Valentine's Day From Pixar Corner!

Stanton and Docter Teaming Up for Short

(L-R) Pixarians Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter

Andrew Stanton, director of Pixar favorites Finding Nemo and WALL-E, has recently been working on the live-action Disney film, John Carter, in theaters March 9. This has led many to believe that, like director of The Incredibles and Ratatouille, Brad Bird,  Andrew Stanton has left the Pixar. However, he himself tweeted that he "never left Pixar" and the he "never will".

Director of Monsters, Inc. and Up, Pete Docter is currently working at Pixar directing his latest film, one that takes you "inside the human mind".

Well, how exciting is it to hear that these two geniuses are collaborating to make a new Pixar short film together? Pretty darn thrilling, right?

Here's what Mr. Stanton himself said:

Yeah. As a matter of fact I’m developing a short film with Pete Docter. There’s an idea that he and I have had for years that we are finally getting around to doing which is kind of funny. We are both way too busy, but we just love the idea of doing this one little project together and then I’ve been… I executive produce a lot of the films over there and so I spend a lot of… People keep thinking I’ve been away from there, but I actually have been on campus for the last year and a half just helping watch over other stuff, but I don’t have a feature film of my own that’s an animated Pixar film that’s coming up soon, no. That’s a ways away.

We probably won't see this short anytime soon, but at least we know it's coming, and it's very unlikely it will disappoint. How can a short film directed by Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter fail?

New Valentine's Day Logo: Merida's Arrows

You've probably noticed the new Valentine's Day logo for the blog that I put up the other day. It has, of course, once again been designed by the very talented Paul Robin to celebrate the celebration of friendship and love. And in case you were wondering, those aren't Cupid's arrow taking aim at the Pixar Corner header - they're arrows shot by a certain Scottish princess that goes by the name of Merida. What else would you expect on a Pixar blog?

As you know, Pixar's Brave is taking aim at theaters this year, so it's quite fitting to have, instead of the usual arrows from the baby in the diaper, arrows from the heroine with the bow!

Also, Paul Robin goes to Hawaii in the latest Paul Robin Adventure! Be sure to check it out!

A Peek Into Cars Land: Radiator Springs Racers

With Cars Land opening up its gates this summer over at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, we keep getting more and more peeks into the new Land at the Disneyland Resort, which is currently finishing up construction.

The above photo shows what the main attraction of Cars Land, Radiator Springs Racers, will look like when it opens up later this year. While this image has clearly been edited, it does help you imagine what the new ride will look like. Radiator Springs Racers will be quite similar to Test Track at Epcot in Orlando, Florida, but this new ride has something that the classic high-speed attraction doesn't - McQueen and Mater.

Here is some footage from the early ride testing, which of course, has ended by now.

Pretty cool, huh? I don't know about you, but I am absolutely hyped for Cars Land to open, and I'm particularly excited to go on Radiator Springs Racers. I just hope I get the chance to visit Disneyland this year...

Does Pixar Have A Chimp?

Lee Unkrich's Twitter display pic. He loves chimps.

If you've ever seen the bonus material for the Monsters, Inc. DVD or Blu-ray, you've probably noticed the completely random "pet" chimp walking around the Pixar studios as the filmmakers casually explain how the movie was made. This has led many people have ask themselves the very same odd question:

"Does Pixar have a pet chimpanzee?"

The answer is actually no, but they did have one for a day, and that happened to be the day they were filming the bonus features for the Monsters DVD. I remember as a little boy seeing this chimp in the background when watching the special features, and thinking to myself, "Man, It would be so cool to work at Pixar, they have a chimp!"

Why on Earth would they decide, of all things, to have a chimp casually making appearances during the bonus material of one of their films? Watch as Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich, Bob Peterson, and Darla K. Anderson explain the story behind the "Pixar" chimp.

Quite a funny story, huh? I guess it was pretty hilarious to "inexplicably" have a chimp there, put just pretend like it wasn't there. Lee's love of monkeys and chimpanzees also probably had something to do with having the little ape at the studio for a day.

This chimp, however, isn't the only ape to have worked within Pixar...

Pixar Turns 26!

On February 3rd, 1986, the Graphics Group became Pixar. The studio would go on to create the most successful animated films in the industry, and introduce some of the most cherished and beloved movie characters today. They would take home many awards, including several Oscars, but most importantly, they would make tons of people laugh, and touch the hearts of billions.

So I take this time to say thank you to Pixar, and happy birthday!
